Richard Faulkner has 25 years of international yacht racing experience. He undertook his first Fastnet at 17 and has raced professionally at top regattas around the world ever since. Founding Richard Faulkner Composites Ltd was a natural progression from his work as a professional race boat skipper and project manager. Richard's extensive experience enables him to understand the requirements of both clients and designers as well as the demands on modern racing yachts.

New construction of racing yacht using state of the art composite materials - RFC has been responsible for building a number of highly successful race boats including TP52 'Red', Kerr 36 'Software Mistress', Kerr 32 'Kimanchee Eve', Dubios 40 'Azure' and Mills 50 'Mandrake'. These boats have been victorious in events including the Round The Island Race, China Sea Race, Commodore's Cup, Cowes Week, Cork Week, etc.
Composite component fabrications - RFC specialises in light weight carbon composite components including, rudders, steering quadrants, custom swimming ladders, carbon mast components and specialist deck fittings. The company was reponsible for building the clear coat carbon interior of the 97' Reichel Pugh designed 'Leopard'.
Superyacht tender constructions - among the superyacht tenders built by RFC to date are an 8.5m open sports boat for a 300' motor yacht, a 5m open tender for the Baltic 152 'Pink Gin' and a 5m custom RIB for the 385' yacht 'Pelorus'. The focus of RFC's superyacht tender work has been to develop innovative designs and stylish, functional products.
Refit work - for all boats from super-maxi catamaran 'Playstation' through Wally 77s and Swan 45s to Open 60 'Hugo Boss' and Farr 52s, 45s and 40s.
Traditional boat building and restoration - Alongside their composite work the RFC craftsmen enjoy opportunities to maintain their traditional boat building skills. Recent traditional projects include the full restoration of several X Boats, Dragons and a Solent Sunbeam.
